Priti Walla, 7, plays the Hindu God Krishna during a performance of the Krishna Leela, choreographed by Mathura Alladi, during lndia Fest 2009 at Santa Fe College on Saturday. At back is Reeha Patel, 6. The Krishna Leela re-enacts important scenes from Krishna’s childhood such as this performance of Krishna as a mischievous baby who steals butter from the local villagers. Leelas are folk plays performed during the festival to mark Krishna’s birth called Janmashtami.
