In August 1996, Mathura Alladi gave a dance performance in Tokyo, Japan, on the occasion of the 50-th anniversary year of India’s Independence. The program was organized by the Indo-Japanese Cultural Society and held at the Yamaha Auditorium in Ginza, a busy section of downtown Tokyo. Mathura’s older daughter Lalitha joined in two of the dance pieces. Krishna Alladi was the MC for the program.
